- ½ small onion thinly chopped
- 2 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
- salt
- 350 gms – 12.35 oz. egg pappardelle
- 150 to 200 ml – 5.3 to 7 oz. heavy cream
- parmigiano reggiano thinly grated to serve
- pepper ground, to serve
