  • 2 tablespoons peanut butter natural
  • 2 tablespoons berries frozen and thawed if out of season, ripe
  • ½ teaspoon chia seeds

Instructions

  1. Place the water and rolled oats in a small pot over high heat and bring it to a boil. Reduce the heat to low and simmer, covered, for 15 minutes, or until the oats are soft, stirring the oats a few times. Stir in the peanut butter.
  2. While the oats are cooking, make the jam. In a small bowl, mash the ripe berries with the chia seeds and, if using, the honey.
  3. Pour the oatmeal into a bowl and swirl the jam on top. Serve with any or all of the toppings.

Notes

  • Use quick oats and store-bought jam for a faster version.
  • To create a peanut butter drizzle, thin natural peanut butter slightly with water until pourable; this doesn't affect taste but improves appearance.
