Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and set aside.
  2. On a lightly floured surface, roll the pizza dough into a 15-inch x 12-inch rectangle. (You can do this right on the parchment paper.)
  3. Spread the marinara over the surface of the dough, leaving a ½-inch strip along one of the longer edges free of marinara sauce (this will help seal the pinwheel roll later). Sprinkle the pizza dough with cheese, followed by the pepperoni and green peppers.
  4. Tightly roll the dough up, starting with the sauced longer edge and ending on the side with no marinara. Place the roll seam side down and use a serrated knife to cut into 12 even slices.
  5. Place the pinwheels on their side on the prepared baking sheet. Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes, or until the pinwheels have puffed up and are lightly golden.
  6. Remove from the oven and allow to cool for 5 minutes. Sprinkle with parmesan cheese and parsley, then serve with extra marinara sauce for dipping.

Notes

  • I use Pillsbury classic refrigerated pizza dough for this recipe to keep things easy. If you prefer to use homemade pizza dough, pizza dough from your local pizzeria, or pre-made dough from the grocery store, you can. Just be sure to form it into a rectangular shape.
