Description
The seasoning combines dried Italian herbs such as oregano, basil, thyme, and sage with aromatic components including minced garlic, dried onion flakes, and cracked black pepper. Red pepper flakes provide a mild heat, while fennel seeds add a faint anise flavor, rounded out by rosemary's pine-like notes. This blend is stirred together and stored in an airtight jar to maintain freshness up to six months.

Ingredients
- 4 tablespoons oregano dried
- 2 tablespoons basil dried
- 1 tablespoon garlic minced is recommended but can substitute 2 teaspoons granulated or powder, dried, minced
- 1 tablespoon dried onion flakes
- 2 teaspoons red pepper flakes
- 1 teaspoon thyme dried
- 3/4 teaspoon fennel seeds place whole seeds in a ziplock bag and pound them with something blunt, cracked
- 1/2 teaspoon rosemary dried
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper coarsely ground
- 1/4 teaspoon sage dried
Instructions
- Measure the herbs and spices into a small bowl and stir to evenly combine. Alternatively, place them directly in a glass jar and give it a shake.Store your blend in an airtight jar in a dark, cool place where it will keep for up to 6 months. Give it a shake before using it to redistribute the herbs and spices.Makes about 3/4 cup seasoning.
