Pumpkin Oatmeal Recipe
Description
This recipe starts by cooking rolled oats with water and diced apple. The apple adds natural sweetness and slight texture contrasted with the soft oats. Once the oatmeal base is cooked and slightly thickened, pureed pumpkin and aromatic pumpkin pie spice are stirred in to infuse warm autumnal flavors and a creamy texture.
The topping of maple pecans involves pan-cooking pecans with maple syrup, butter, and a pinch of sea salt until the mixture boils and the coating becomes dry and sticky. Cooling these pecans on parchment paper results in crunchy, sweet-tart nuts that complement the soft oatmeal below.
The combination of creamy pumpkin oatmeal and crunchy maple pecans balances texture and sweet-spice flavors, making this a comforting breakfast especially suited for cooler weather or seasonal meals.
