Quick and Easy Carbonara
Description
The recipe begins by browning bacon in cooking oil, then setting it aside. Garlic and chopped onion are sautéed in butter until tender before sliced champignon mushrooms are added and lightly browned. Milk and cream are poured in and cooked until thickened, creating a creamy sauce base.
The bacon and its retained oil join the sauce, combined with grated Parmesan cheese and seasoning of salt and black pepper. The hot sauce is then folded through cooked pasta such as spaghetti, fettuccine, or linguine, coating each strand in creamy, savory goodness. Additional Parmesan and freshly ground pepper can be added atop before serving.
Care is advised when seasoning with salt, as the bacon and cheese add saltiness. Adjust gradually to prevent over-salting. This dish provides a hearty and creamy pasta meal with rich flavors from the bacon and mushrooms.
