Quickie Skillet Apple Pie Cinnamon Buns

These apple pie cinnamon buns are so easy that you will be making them all the time!

Ingredients

Servings
  • 2 cups flour
  • 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • 4 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 cup cold butter
  • 1 cup milk

Cinnamon topping and filling

  • 1/3 cup butter softened
  • 1 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/4 cup chopped raisins
  • 1 cup chopped apples steamed in microwave until soft

Glaze

  • 1 1/2 cups confectioners' sugar
  • 2 teaspoons heavy cream
  • 1/8 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2-3 teaspoons melted butter

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400 °F.
  2. Whisk together the dry ingredients. Cut in the butter until it's the size of small peas.
  3. Mix in the milk until the dough forms a ball.Turn out the dough onto light floured surface and roll into 12 x 8 inch rectangle.
  4. Combine the first three topping ingredients and spread them onto the dough.
  5. Sprinkle the raisins and apples over the top and then roll up the dough jelly-roll style.
  6. Cut into 12 even pieces.
  7. Place into greased muffin cups and bake at 400 until the rolls are browned and the cinnamon mixture is bubbling, approximately 15-20 minutes.Cool slightly, then remove from the tins.Whisk together glaze ingredients until smooth, then drizzle over the top of the buns. Serve and enjoy!
