Sauteed Green Beans Recipe

Garlic and shallots gently flavor these sauteed green beans making them a wonderful weeknight or holiday side. Easy to make, and fabulous to eat!

Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 shallot (about 1/4 cup chopped)
  • 2 teaspoons garlic finely minced
  • salt & pepper
  • 1 pound fresh green beans
  • 1/4 cup chicken stock

Instructions

Get prepped

  1. Chop the shallot and mince the garlic. Rinse and trim the fresh green beans. Measure out the butter and chicken stock.

Sauté the shallots and garlic

  1. Melt the butter in a large skillet with a lid over medium heat.
  2. Cook the shallots until they start to soften, then add the garlic. Cook for 30 seconds.

Cook the green beans

  1. Add the green beans to the skillet, stirring to coat them in the buttery garlic and shallots.
  2. Season with salt and pepper to your taste.
  3. Increase the heat to high and add the chicken stock.
  4. Cover the skillet with the lid and cook, stirring occasionally, until the beans are tender but still bright green, about 5-7 minutes. The chicken stock will have evaporated by the time they’re done.

Serve

  1. Mix everything well and serve hot.
  2. Devour.
