Shrimp Alfredo Pasta
Description
Shrimp Alfredo Pasta features peeled and deveined shrimp seasoned and sautéed in butter and garlic until pink and opaque. The creamy Alfredo sauce is created in the same skillet using butter, cream cheese, milk, and Parmesan cheese, seasoned with salt and pepper. Cooking the sauce in the shrimp pan captures flavor without washing away shrimp bits. After thickening, the sauce coats the cooked pasta thoroughly before the shrimp are folded back in. The result is a rich, velvety pasta dish with tender shrimp and a smoothly blended cheese sauce.
The flavor is buttery with subtle garlic notes, softened by the creaminess of cream cheese and Parmesan. The shrimp add a mild briny sweetness and a firm but tender bite contrasting with the smooth sauce and tender pasta. You can adjust sauce thickness with milk to your preference.
This dish is ideal served immediately to maintain the shrimp’s texture and the sauce’s creaminess. It pairs well with a simple green salad or steamed vegetables, rounding out the meal with freshness.
For freezing, freeze only the Alfredo sauce separately as noodles and shrimp do not freeze well. When reheating the sauce, thaw fully and stir constantly over low heat or in short bursts in the microwave to prevent separation.
