Shrimp Scampi
Description
This Shrimp Scampi recipe features shrimp sautéed briefly in a blend of butter and olive oil infused with minced garlic and a touch of red pepper flakes for mild heat. The shrimp cook until opaque and tender in just a few minutes. After removing the shrimp from the pan, white wine is reduced slightly to concentrate flavor, then the shrimp are returned to coat in the aromatic sauce.
The final result is shrimp with a rich, buttery sauce accented by garlic, subtle spice, and bright notes from wine and parsley. The dish can be served immediately, commonly over pasta or with crusty bread to soak up the buttery garlic sauce.
Preparation can be done ahead by peeling and deveining shrimp and mincing garlic. This is a fast dish to cook and assemble once ready to serve. Leftovers can be refrigerated and consumed within a few days, but freezing is not advised to preserve texture quality.
