Slow Cooker Apple Oatmeal

Slow Cooker Apple Oatmeal uses steel-cut oats cooked all day with almond milk, cubed apples, warm spices like cinnamon and nutmeg, and maple syrup. The slow cooking yields a creamy, hearty oatmeal infused with apple sweetness and aromatic spices. Topped with sliced almonds, it makes a comforting, hands-off breakfast ideal for batch preparation.

Description

Slow Cooker Apple Oatmeal is made by combining steel-cut oats with almond milk, diced apples, cinnamon, nutmeg, allspice, and cloves, then simmering on low heat for eight hours in a slow cooker. This long, gentle cooking process softens the oats thoroughly while allowing the apple pieces to infuse their flavor throughout. The inclusion of maple syrup sweetens the mixture naturally and balances the spices.

The result is a warm, creamy oatmeal with tender fruit bites and a complex spiced aroma. Sliced almonds may be added on top for crunch and texture contrast. Cooking in a slow cooker frees the cook from standing at the stove and is suited for making breakfast ready in the morning.

Leftover oatmeal can be stored in the refrigerator and reheated with a splash of almond milk to restore creaminess before serving again.
