Ingredients

Servings

Herbed Cream Cheese:

  • 8 oz cream cheese whipped
  • 1 Tbsp dill finely chopped, fresh
  • 1 Tbsp chive finely chopped, fresh
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • salt to taste
  • black pepper to taste

For Flatbread:

  • 1 pita bread I used Naan (use mini Naan or Joseph’s Pita for lower carb, or Naan or flatbread of choice
  • 2 Tbsp cream cheese herbed
  • 2 oz smoked salmon
  • 1 egg quartered, hard boiled
  • 1/4 cup red onion sliced or diced
  • 1 Tbsp capers optional
  • arugula for topping
  • fresh dill for topping

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F. Place the flatbread on a baking sheet and brush with olive oil if desired (or spray with cooking spray). Bake for 5 minutes, then let cool for 5-7 minutes.
  2. Meanwhile, mix all the ingredients together to make the herbed cream cheese.
  3. Once the flatbread has cooled, spread the cream cheese on top.
  4. Top with smoked salmon, red onions, arugula, capers, and fresh dill. Then slice and enjoy!

Notes

  • To make gluten-free: use gluten-free flatbread of choice.
  • To make dairy-free: use dairy-free cream cheese.
  • This homemade herb cream cheese is incredibly fresh and delicious, but feel free to use store bought to save time!
  • How To Make Perfect Hard Boiled Eggs
  • Place eggs in a large saucepan. Cover them with cool water by 1 inch. Bring water to a boil (for easier to peel eggs, add 1/2 Tbsp salt and 1 Tbsp vinegar). Once at a rolling boil, set the timer for exactly 10 minutes (for perfect hard-boiled eggs) then remove from heat. Run eggs over cold water for a few minutes until all the hot water is gone and you’re left with the cold water. Let eggs sit in the cool water for 10 minutes until they reach room temperature.
