This southern side is kicked up a notch with the addition of jalapenos, cheddar and pepperjack cheese. The spicy grits are perfect for shrimp and grits or as a side to your favorite Southern meals.

Ingredients
- 1 cup Quick Cook Grits
- 2 cups milk
- 2 cups water
- 2 jalapeños diced
- 1 cup sharp cheddar cheese shredded
- ½ cup pepperjack cheese shredded
- 2 Tablespoons butter
- 1 teaspoon salt
Instructions
- Melt butter in a medium pot and saute jalapenos for about 3 minutes.
- Mix in the salt, milk, and water and bring to a hard boil.
- Whisk in the grits slowly, making sure they do not stick to the bottom.
- Reduce heat to simmer, cover and cook for 7 minutes.
- Remove the lid and stir the grits well, making sure it is well combined then stir in the cheese and stir for about 1 minute to combine.
- Cover to keep warm until needed.
