Spaghetti Bolognese
Description
The Spaghetti Bolognese recipe combines cooked spaghetti with a sauce made from browned minced beef, sautéed onion and garlic, chopped tomatoes, and tomato paste, seasoned with dried oregano and basil. Adding beef stock and simmering the sauce allows flavors to meld while thickening the mixture. The final dish balances the umami from the meat and stock with the acidity of tomatoes and herbal notes from the dried herbs. Serving the sauce over spaghetti noodles offers contrasting textures: tender pasta against a thick meat sauce. Grated Parmesan adds a finishing layer of saltiness and richness.
This dish works well as a standalone meal and can be accompanied by a simple side salad or bread. It’s a familiar recipe that balances protein, starch, and sauce components for satisfying flavors and textures.
