Sparkling Tuscan Lemonade
Description
The recipe begins by simmering sugar, water, fresh rosemary and thyme sprigs, and lemon zest to infuse the simple syrup with herbaceous and citrus flavors. After cooling and straining out the herbs, the syrup stores well in the refrigerator for up to a month, allowing for easy cocktail preparation later.
To prepare the drink, vodka, freshly squeezed lemon juice, and an amount of the herb-infused syrup are combined in a pitcher, followed by ice and club soda to add effervescence. This method balances sweetness and acidity with sparkling bubbles, producing a pleasantly bright cocktail.
Serving the cocktail cold and garnished with lemon wheels and rosemary sprigs enhances the visual appeal and aromatic experience, making it suitable for casual gatherings or warm-weather refreshment.
The lemonade lasts about one week refrigerated, and any preferred lemonade can be used if desired.
