Spinach Pesto Recipe with Garlic
Description
This pesto recipe blends together a generous amount of basil and fresh baby spinach to create a vibrant green sauce. Fresh minced garlic, grated Parmigiano Reggiano, and a splash of lemon juice are added for depth of flavor and brightness. Olive oil is streamed in during processing to reach a light and spreadable texture. Seasoning with salt and black pepper adjusts balance according to taste.
The spinach adds a milder green flavor than basil alone, providing greater volume and nutrients without overpowering the taste. Lemon juice helps keep freshness and adds a slight tang that complements the cheese and garlic.
Spinach pesto works well tossed with pasta, spread on sandwiches, or as a topping for pizza. Storing it in an airtight container refrigerated preserves the flavors and color for future use.
