Ingredients
Strawberry Syrup
- 2 cups strawberries tops removed and hulled
- ½ cup granulated sugar
French Monaco
- 2 oz. simple syrup
- 2 oz. freshly squeezed lemon juice freshly squeezed
- 3 oz. Strawberry Syrup recipe above
- 12 oz. pale lager like Stella Artois
- lemon peel for garnish
Instructions
Make the Strawberry Syrup
- Blend strawberries until smooth in a blender.
- Strain the strawberries over a small saucepan with a fine mesh strainer.
- Stir sugar for the syrup into the saucepan and bring to a boil over medium-high heat.
- Cook, stirring constantly, until the sugar dissolves. Remove from heat and cool completely before using in the cocktail.
Make the French Monaco
- Set out two tall cocktail glasses.
- Add 1 oz. simple syrup and 1 oz. lemon juice to each glass. Stir until combined.
- Stir in 1 ½ oz strawberry syrup into each glass. Top each glass with 6 oz light lager, stirring to combine.
- Garnish with a lemon twist and serve immediately.
Notes
- Make the strawberry syrup in advance, and keep it in the refrigerator for up to a week.
