Ingredients

  • 1 pound elbow macaroni pasta
  • 24 ounces evaporated milk
  • 1 cup milk whole
  • 3 egg
  • 8 ounces butter cut into small pieces
  • 2 tablespoons sour cream
  • 1/2 pound cheddar cheese shredded, sharp
  • 1/2 pound colby cheese shredded
  • 1 pound Velveeta cheese cut into small chunks
  • 1/2 pound Monterey jack cheese shredded
  • salt to taste
  • white pepper to taste
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1 cup American cheese shredded

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F and prepare a 9×13-inch casserole dish.
  2. Bring a large pot of lightly salted water to a boil and cook the pasta according to the package instructions. Drain and transfer the pasta to the prepared casserole dish.
  3. In a large bowl, mix the evaporated milk, whole milk, and eggs with a fork or whisk until thoroughly combined.
  4. Add the butter, sour cream, and all the cheeses aside from the American to the pasta.
  5. Pour the milk and egg mixture over the pasta. Season with salt, pepper, and sugar, and toss to combine.
  6. Sprinkle the top of the pasta with the remaining cup of American cheese. Bake for about 30 to 45 minutes or until the top is a light golden brown.
