Instructions

  1. Load into the Thermomix flour, salt, and cream of tartar. Place the lid on the Thermomix and mix on speed 6 for 5 seconds with the manual setting screen.
  2. When it beeps remove the lid and add in the coconut oil along with 400ml/1.5 Cups of water and mix again on speed 6 for a further 5 seconds.
  3. Scrape the edges for any bits that are stuck and then cook for 30 minutes at 95c/200f at a speed of 2.5.
  4. Remove the jug from the Thermomix unit and load into the freezer for 30 minutes or the fridge for 90 minutes to completely cool so that it doesn’t burn you on touch.
  5. Then using weighing scales make into six equal weight playdough balls.
  6. Then add a tiny bit of food colouring to each.
  7. Then knead like you do with bread dough until each dough ball is fully covered in its desired colour.

Notes

  • Colours. You can use any colours or glitters for your playdough in the Thermomix. You can go pastel you can go Halloween colours or even do a green batch for St Paddy’s Day.
  • Store. Then when the kids are bored of playing, add to a Ziploc bag each coloured ball and store in the cupboard until your next play time.
  • Colouring. A little food colouring on the bottom of a spoon is plenty. Because you are not cooking with the colouring just playing with it.
