Valentine's Blondies

Delicious, classic chewy blondies in heart shapes with Nutella and sprinkles. No mixer required, so easy, and delicious!

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups all purpose flour 180g
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 3/4 cup unsalted butter, melted and cooled 170g
  • 1 1/2 cups light brown sugar 295g
  • 2 large eggs, at room temperature and lightly beaten
  • 3 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup white chocolate chips 85g
  • 1/2 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips 8g

For decorarting:

  • Nutella
  • colorful sprinkles

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350F (180C) and lightly grease a 13x9 inch pan, lining with parchment paper with enough extra parchment paper to form an overhang so you can easily lift blondies out of the pan once cool.
  2. Whisk the flour, baking powder, and salt together in medium bowl and set aside.
  3. Whisk melted butter and brown sugar together in medium bowl until combined. Add eggs and vanilla and mix well.
  4. Using a spatula, fold dry ingredients into egg mixture until just combined; do not over mix. Fold in chocolate and then smooth into prepared pan.
  5. Bake until top is shiny, cracked, and light golden brown, 22 to 25 minutes; do not over bake, toothpick will come out clean.
  6. Cool completely then cut out heart shapes with a cookie cutter. Lightly spread Nutella on top and add sprinkles if desired. Enjoy!

Notes

  • You can use any type of chocolate chip you prefer, all of one type or milk chocolate chips, butterscotch chips.
  • You can add 1 cup of toasted nuts of choice, like walnuts or pecans.
  • Storing Leftovers:
  • Leftover blondies will last in a tightly covered container for up to 5 days. If you are in a hot and humid environment, you can also store them in the fridge and let the come to room temperature before eating.
