Description

This recipe starts by slicing a ciabatta loaf lengthwise and preparing a vegan garlic butter spread mixing softened vegan butter with garlic, fresh basil, vegan parmesan cheese, salt, and black pepper. The ingredients are blended until smooth and spread generously on the bread. Baking at 180°C (350°F) for about 15 minutes melts the spread and crisps the bread edges to a warm golden color.

The fresh basil imparts a bright herbal note balancing the garlic pungency and cheesy flavor of the vegan parmesan.   • 400 g ciabatta bread around 400g (14 oz, loaf
  • ½ block vegan butter
  • 4-5 garlic cloves
  • 50 g vegan parmesan cheese
  • basil fresh, a handful
  • salt a pinch
  • black pepper a pinch

Instructions

  1. Pre-heat the oven to 180C (350F)
  2. Cut the Ciabatta bread loaf in half lengthwise.
  3. Peel and finely chop or mince the garlic cloves and wash and finely chop the fresh basil.
  4. Prepare the vegan garlic butter by adding to a medium-sized mixing bowl the vegan butter, minced garlic, chopped basil, salt, pepper, and vegan parmesan cheese.
  5. Combine the ingredients using a fork until the butter starts to soften and create a smooth spreadable mixture.
  6. Spread the whole mixture on both bread pieces.
  7. Place in the oven and bake for 15 minutes or until golden brown.
  8. Cut the bread into slices and serve.

Notes

  • Serve the garlic bread with pasta or soup dishes to complement their flavors.
  • Freeze leftover bread in a sealed freezer bag to preserve freshness for later use.
