Whole Chicken in Air Fryer

Ingredients

  • 3 ½ - 5 pound whole chicken
  • 2 teaspoons olive oil
  • 2 Tablespoons BBQ Rub

Instructions

  1. Ensure the cavity of the chicken is empty and dab the skin dry.
  2. Rub the skin with olive oil and rub the whole chicken with the BBQ Rub. If you can gently lift skin up and apply rub in between the chicken and skin for extra flavor.
  3. Place the chicken breast-side down into the air fryer basket. Turn the air fryer on to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.
  4. Cook for 30 minutes, flip the chicken over and cook for 30 minutes or until an instant read thermometer reaches 165 degrees Fahrenheit in the thickest part of the chicken breast. Cooking time will depend on the chicken size.
  5. Remove from the air fryer and rest 10 minutes before cutting.

  • FRIDGE: Place leftover chicken into an airtight container or zip top bag and store in the fridge for up to 3 days.
  • FREEZER: Leftover chicken stored in an airtight container or freezer bag can be frozen for up to 2 months. Chicken bones can be frozen for 4-6 months.
  • Reheat chicken in the microwave or in the oven with a splash of water in the baking dish. Heat until the chicken reaches a safe internal temperature of 165 degrees Fahrenheit.
