Yema Spread
Description
Yema Spread combines egg yolks and condensed milk cooked together gently until thickened to a custard-like smoothness. Butter and a pinch of salt enrich the mixture, while vanilla extract adds subtle fragrant notes. The preparation involves careful stirring to avoid sticking or over-thickening, resulting in a glossy and creamy finish that sets after cooling. This spread is versatile as a topping or filling, prized for its sweet, comforting flavor and soft texture.
Ingredients
- 5 egg yolk
- 1 can condensed milk 300ml
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 tablespoon butter unsalted
- pinch salt
Instructions
- Combine egg yolks and condensed milk in a pan or wok.
- Turn on heat to medium. Stir the mixture with spatula or wooden spoon to prevent from sticking to the pan.
- Cook until it thickens, but not too thick. It will go thicken more as it cools down.
- Add the butter and salt and mix until it becomes smooth and shiny.
- Turn heat off and add the vanilla extract and mix.
- Let it cool down a bit then transfer to glass jars.
