Yema Spread

Yema Spread is a smooth, creamy Filipino treat made from egg yolks, condensed milk, butter, and vanilla extract. The mixture is slowly cooked on medium heat to achieve a tender, custard-like consistency that thickens further as it cools. Its rich, sweet flavor and silky texture make it a popular spread or filling for pastries and desserts.

Description

Yema Spread combines egg yolks and condensed milk cooked together gently until thickened to a custard-like smoothness. Butter and a pinch of salt enrich the mixture, while vanilla extract adds subtle fragrant notes. The preparation involves careful stirring to avoid sticking or over-thickening, resulting in a glossy and creamy finish that sets after cooling. This spread is versatile as a topping or filling, prized for its sweet, comforting flavor and soft texture.
