  • 20 ounces 15 bean soup 1 package, HamBeens brand
  • 1 pound ground beef lean
  • 1 onion diced
  • 1 green bell pepper diced
  • 14.5 ounces canned diced tomatoes 1 can, 14.5 ounces, with chilies
  • 6 ounces tomato paste 1 can
  • 8 cups beef broth
  • 1.5 ounces chili seasoning mix 1 packet
  • salt to taste
  • black pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Rinse beans and remove any debris.
  2. Brown beef over medium heat until no pink remains. Drain any fat.
  3. In a 6 QT slow cooker, combine beans, beef, onion, peppers, and broth.
  4. Stir in Hurst's ham flavor packet and ½ of the chili seasoning mix.
  5. Cover and cook on high for 5-6 hours or until beans are tender.
  6. Add in diced tomatoes, tomato paste and remainder of chili seasoning mix.
  7. Cook for additional 30 minutes.
