30-Minute Pepper Steak Stir Fry
Description
30-Minute Pepper Steak Stir Fry is a quick and balanced dish featuring thinly sliced flank steak and bell peppers cooked separately to maintain their textures before combining with a glossy sauce. The stir fry sauce is a blend of soy sauce, garlic, grated fresh ginger, brown sugar, and cornstarch, which adds a light thickness that coats the ingredients evenly. The initial stir-fry of the peppers softens them slightly but keeps their vibrant color and crunch, while the high-heat searing of beef strips creates a desirable browned exterior without overcooking.
The combination of soy sauce and brown sugar adds depth with savory and sweet notes, accented by the freshness of garlic and ginger. This sauce enhances both meat and vegetables, integrating the flavors in the final steps of cooking. Preparing the dish in stages helps control textures and achieve a harmonious combination.
Once completed, this stir fry pairs well with cooked grains or noodles, extending the meal into a full dinner. The use of common, versatile ingredients and a straightforward method helps deliver an easy homemade alternative to takeout pepper steak.
