4 Ingredient Meatball Casserole

This 4 Ingredient Meatball Casserole combines baked meatballs, pasta, marinara sauce, and mozzarella cheese baked together until bubbly. The meatballs are cooked first to ensure doneness, then layered over nearly cooked pasta mixed with sauce and cheese. More cheese tops the dish, creating a melted, golden crust when baked.

Description

The 4 Ingredient Meatball Casserole starts with baking fresh or frozen meatballs until fully cooked and juicy. Meanwhile, pasta is boiled to just short of tender, so it doesn’t overcook in the casserole. The cooked pasta is mixed with marinara sauce and half the mozzarella cheese, then transferred to a casserole dish.

Meatballs are arranged on top of the sauced pasta and covered with the remaining mozzarella. Baking until the cheese melts and browns slightly creates a hearty dish with layers of tender pasta, savory meatballs, tangy tomato sauce, and gooey cheese. The casserole is cooled briefly before serving to set the layers.

This simple recipe uses just four main ingredients and straightforward cooking for an approachable meal perfect for weeknights when a comforting, filling dish is desired.
