A recipe for Agua de Sandía (Mexican Watermelon Water)! Fresh watermelon is blended with water and flavored with lime and sugar for a light and refreshing drink.

Ingredients
- 4 cups watermelon chopped, fresh, 750 grams (26 ounces
- 6 cups water divided, cold, 1.4 liters
- 3 tablespoons granulated sugar or to taste, 38 grams
- 1/4 cup lime juice fresh, 60 milliliters
For serving:
- ice
- lime wedges
- watermelon wedges
Instructions
- Place the chopped watermelon in a blender with 2 cups (470 milliliters) of the water and 2 tablespoons (25 grams) of the sugar. Puree until smooth. Do this step in batches if needed.
- Strain the watermelon puree through a fine mesh sieve, using the back of a spoon to help push the liquid through if needed. Transfer to a large pitcher.
- Add the lime juice and remaining 4 cups (1 liter) water. Stir to combine and add an additional tablespoon of sugar or more to taste.
- Serve immediately with ice or chill in the refrigerator. Mix and add ice immediately before serving.
