Air Fryer Apple Fritters
Description
These apple fritters are made by mixing flour, baking powder, sugar, and warm spices like cinnamon, nutmeg, and optional cardamom with eggs, milk, and vanilla. Peeled, cored, and chopped apples are folded into the batter, which is portioned into fritters spaced properly to cook evenly in the air fryer. Spraying with cooking oil before and after flipping fosters a golden exterior crust. The fritters cook quickly at 350°F, yielding a lightly crisp shell while keeping the interior dough and apple pieces soft and tender. A glaze can be drizzled after cooking for extra sweetness and shine. The air fryer method simplifies traditional frying by using less oil and still achieving a satisfying texture contrast between crust and fruit.
