Air Fryer Baked Oats
Description
This Air Fryer Baked Oats recipe starts by blending rolled oats, a large egg, mash of ripe banana, almond milk, vanilla extract, baking powder, and cinnamon into a smooth batter. The banana adds natural sweetness and moisture, while the cinnamon and vanilla lend gentle warmth and aroma.
Optional mix-ins such as chocolate chips, blueberries, or sprinkles can be stirred into the batter for added flavor and texture. The batter is poured into a greased ramekin and air-fried at 290°F, allowing the oats to cook through and develop a lightly golden top.
The result is a warm, tender baked oat suitable for individual servings. It is easily customizable with choice mix-ins or nut butters. This dish is ideal for a filling breakfast or snack with moderate sweetness and a soft crumb.
For storage, baked oats can be kept in an airtight container in the refrigerator up to four days. Reheating is possible in an air fryer, oven, or microwave for convenience. Quick oats can substitute rolled oats, but steel-cut oats are not recommended.
Ingredients
- ½ cup rolled oats gluten-free if needed, old-fashioned
- 1 large egg
- ½ large banana more brown spots = sweeter, over-ripe
- 3 tablespoon almond milk I love vanilla unsweetened almond milk, or oat milk
- ½ teaspoon vanilla extract
- ¼ teaspoon baking powder
- ¾ teaspoon ground cinnamon
- honey or maple syrup, 1 tablespoon, optional sweetness
- peanut butter or almond butter, 1 tablespoon, flavor ideas
- chocolate chips 2 tbsp chocolate chips, 2 tbsp blueberries, extra banana slices on top, 2 tbsp rainbow sprinkles, 2 tbsp unsweetened shredded coconut
- blueberries
- banana
- Rainbow sprinkles
- unsweetened shredded coconut
Instructions
- Preheat your air fryer to 290°F and grease a single-serve ramekin or baking dish.
- Add all the base ingredients to a high-speed blender (do not add mix-ins yet). Decide if you want to add nut butter (this is optional, but I love peanut butter). Blend on high for 20 – 30 seconds until fully combined.
- Stir in your desired mix-in. I love chocolate chips, blueberries, or sprinkles.
- Pour the batter into a greased ramekin (I used an 8-ounce one). Top with the extra chocolate chips or your desired mix-in.
- Air fry at 290°F for 12 - 15 min total. Check at the 7-minute mark since all air fryers are different. If it is browning too quickly on top, feel free to add a piece of aluminum foil on top.
- The oats should be cooked through and slightly browned on top - enjoy!
Notes
- Use rolled oats for best texture; quick oats work but avoid steel-cut oats.
- Any milk type works, including skim, soy, rice, or nut milks; almond or oat milk are preferred here.
- Store baked oats in an airtight container refrigerated for up to 4 days.
- Reheat in air fryer (350°F for 5-8 minutes), oven (350°F for 5-8 minutes), or microwave (1-2 minutes) before eating.
