Air Fryer Baked Potato
Description
This recipe demonstrates how to prepare baked potatoes using an air fryer. Begin by piercing the potatoes thoroughly to allow steam to escape during cooking. A light coating of olive oil spray and salt seasons the skins for crispness and flavor. The potatoes are then arranged in a single layer within the air fryer basket and cooked at 400°F for approximately 35 to 40 minutes, turning halfway through to promote even cooking and browning.
When done, the insides are soft enough for a knife to easily pierce. This method yields skin that crisps well without the long preheating times required by a conventional oven. The result is a baked potato with a creamy interior and a slightly crisp skin exterior.
Potatoes can be split open and topped with ingredients such as sour cream, Greek yogurt, butter, chili, chives, broccoli, cheese, or additional salt and freshly ground pepper according to taste. This makes a versatile side dish or a base for loaded baked potatoes customized to preference.
