Air Fryer Breaded Cauliflower
Description
This Air Fryer Breaded Cauliflower recipe starts by washing and cutting cauliflower into small florets, then parboiling them briefly in salted water to soften slightly. After drying, the florets are dipped in a batter made from flour, paprika, garlic salt, black pepper, and water to a smooth consistency. They are then coated with breadcrumbs for texture.
The florets are arranged in the air fryer basket without overlapping, lightly drizzled or sprayed with olive oil, then air fried at 200°C (400°F) for about 10 minutes, shaking halfway through. This method crisps the exterior while keeping the interior tender. The paprika and garlic salt add a mild smoky and savory spice to the coating.
This preparation works well as a vegetable appetizer or a side dish, offering a crunchy alternative to traditional roasted or steamed cauliflower. The air fryer method uses less oil, making it lighter and quicker than deep frying.
Ingredients
- 1 cauliflower
- 1 Cup all-purpose flour white
- 1 Cup of water
- 1 Tablespoon paprika
- garlic salt half a tablespoon
- black pepper
- olive oil
Instructions
- First wash the cauliflower well and divide all the florets, making sure to cut them small.
- Parboiling (means quickly boiling) them for about 5 minutes in boiling salted water and then let them dry well.
- Meanwhile, let's prepare the batter.
- In a bowl, sift the flour. To the flour add the paprika, garlic salt and a little black pepper, and mix together.
- Add the water slowly and mix to perfection with a whisk to avoid forming annoying lumps, When we have obtained a smooth and homogeneous batter, we set it aside.
- In another bowl, pour in the breadcrumbs.
- Preheat the the air fryer to 200°C (400°F)
- Take the cauliflower florets and pass first in the batter and then in the breadcrumbs.
- Place the cauliflower in the basket and pour a drizzle of olive oil over it (or better with a spray oil). Be careful not to place them one on top of the other.
- Cook at 200°C for 10 minutes. Shake them halfway through cooking.
- When the cauliflower is golden brown it is ready.
