Air Fryer Brownies
Description
Air Fryer Brownies begin by melting milk chocolate and butter together. Meanwhile, eggs, brown sugar, and vanilla are whisked until light and fluffy. The melted chocolate mixture is folded into the eggs, followed by dry ingredients cocoa powder, flour, and salt. Milk chocolate chips are added last for pockets of melting chocolate within the brownies. Pouring this batter into a lined baking tin sized to fit the air fryer basket allows the brownies to cook evenly at 160°C (320°F).
The cooking time is around 25 minutes with a test for doneness by a clean skewer. An additional 5 minutes may be necessary for a fully cooked center. The air fryer method provides consistent heat circulation for a tender crumb and some fudginess rather than cakey texture. Chilling the brownies for several hours in the fridge or briefly in the freezer is essential; this step firms the brownies, making them easier to cut without crumbling or being overly gooey.
Adjusting pan size or batter amount may require cooking time tweaks. Avoid over-mixing batter to reduce cracking. Optional add-ins like walnuts can add texture but affect slicing neatness. The ability to open the air fryer during baking helps monitor doneness without impacting cooking results.
