Air Fryer Brussel Sprouts
Description
Air Fryer Brussel Sprouts is a recipe focused on preparing fresh Brussels sprouts by trimming and halving them for even cooking. The sprouts are tossed with olive oil, sea salt, and ground black pepper, which helps enhance their natural flavors. Air frying at 180°C (350°F) for 10 to 12 minutes crisps the exterior while maintaining a tender center. The optional addition of grated Parmesan on top adds a salty, nutty dimension that complements the earthy sprouts.
The air fryer cooking method allows hot air to circulate around the sprouts, creating a caramelized, slightly crispy texture without turning oily. Shaking the basket halfway ensures even browning and cooking. This method is convenient for a side dish with minimal cleanup and no need for preheating a conventional oven.
Serving these Brussels sprouts alongside meat or grain dishes brings a flavorful, vegetable component with a balance of crispy edges and soft interiors. The simple seasoning makes it versatile for various meals. Including Parmesan or toppings like pine nuts or a balsamic glaze can customize the flavor and texture experience.
To get uniform results, ensure the sprouts are of similar size and avoid overcrowding the air fryer basket to allow proper air circulation. For larger quantities, cook in batches. Adding cooked bacon or fresh cranberries during air frying can lend extra flavor and texture variety.
