Air Fryer Candied Pecans

These air fryer candied pecans are a wonderful easy snack to make with just a handful of simple ingredients. Coated in a blend of sugars, egg whites, and cinnamon, these sweet, crunchy pecans are perfect for snacking or a topping for salads, ice cream and desserts.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups pecan halves
  • ¼ cup brown sugar
  • ¼ cup white sugar
  • 1 egg white
  • 1 tablespoon maple syrup
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

Instructions

  1. Preheat the air fryer at 340° F.
  2. In a large bowl, add the brown sugar, white sugar, egg white, maple syrup, and cinnamon and stir to combine.
  3. Then add in the pecan halves and stir until the nuts are coated thoroughly.
  4. Place the coated pecans in the lined basket in an even layer.
  5. Line the basket of air fryer with a piece of parchment paper. IMPORTANT: Trim off any paper that sticks up over the top of the basket or it WILL BURN.
  6. Cook for 5 minutes. Then stir the nuts and cook for another 3-5 minutes, checking them to be sure they are not over cooking.
  7. While they are cooking, line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  8. After cooking, pour them onto the lined cookie sheet and spread them out in a single layer and let them cool for 30 minutes to an hour.

Notes

  • Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a week or in the refrigerator for up to 3-4 weeks.
  • DO NOT preheat the air fryer with parchment paper in it. IT IS A FIRE HAZARD!
  • Add a tablespoon of melted butter to the sugar mixture.
  • Swap the cinnamon for pumpkin pie spice.
  • Add ½ teaspoon of vanilla extract.
  • Add a sprinkle of cayenne pepper for a little spicy kick.
