Air Fryer Carrots

Report
Air Fryer Carrots are seasoned carrot battens coated with olive oil, garlic powder, dried basil, oregano, salt, and black pepper, cooked until tender and lightly crisp. Using an air fryer delivers a roasted texture and concentrated flavor with the convenience of quicker cooking and less oil. The herbs add traditional seasoning that complements the natural sweetness of the carrots.

Description

In this Air Fryer Carrots recipe, carrot sticks are cut evenly to ensure uniform cooking. They are tossed with olive oil, garlic powder, dried basil, dried oregano, salt, and ground black pepper for balanced herbal, savory, and garlic notes. The carrots cook in the air fryer at 180°C (350°F) for about 20 minutes, shaken halfway to promote even browning and prevent sticking.

The result is crisp-tender carrot fries with a mildly fragrant herb coating. The texture contrasts the lightly crispy edges with a tender interior. This method offers a healthier alternative to traditional frying while achieving caramelization and flavor concentration.

The recipe includes practical advice such as adjusting cooking time for different air fryer models, cutting carrots uniformly, and options for cutting shape (battens, rounds, or crinkle cuts). It also suggests using ready-cut carrots for convenience and storing or halving portions with adjusted cook times. The notes provide useful guidance for ensuring consistent results and saving preparation time.
