Air Fryer Chicken Strips
Description
Air Fryer Chicken Strips start by whisking eggs, then coating chicken tenderloin strips in a seasoned mixture of kosher salt, smoked paprika, black pepper, garlic powder, and panko breadcrumbs. The coated strips are lightly sprayed with non-stick cooking spray to promote crispness without deep frying. Cooking in the air fryer at 400°F for 8-10 minutes, flipping midway, results in golden, crunchy chicken strips with an internal temperature safe for consumption at 165°F.
The texture combines a crispy crumb coating from panko with tender chicken inside. The seasoning mix adds a smoky, savory note without overpowering the natural chicken flavor. These strips are versatile for dipping in ranch, BBQ, or honey mustard sauces, making them a familiar yet healthier alternative to traditional fried tenders.
They can be made in batches if necessary, and the method allows for easy cooking without excess oil. The recipe also offers oven baking alternatives ensuring accessibility for different kitchen setups. Leftovers can be stored and reheated in the air fryer to restore crispness.
The recipe notes remind to preheat the air fryer, monitor thickness for cooking time adjustments, verify doneness via thermometer or visual cues, and tips for freezing cooked strips for up to a month.
