Air Fryer Corned Beef Pasty

Ingredients

  • Air Fryer
  • pastry brush
  • Pasty Maker

Corned Beef Pasty Ingredients:

  • 400 g Leftover Corned Beef Hash
  • 500 g Batch Air Fryer Pie Crust
  • 1 large egg
  • 28 g grated cheddar cheese
  • 2 Tsp tomato puree
  • 1 Tbsp parsley
  • salt & pepper

Instructions

  1. Place leftover corned beef hash in a bowl and mix with your hands to make it a little mushy. Cut up any bigger bits of potato. Add to the bowl the seasoning, the tomato puree and the grated cheese and mix well with your hands.
  2. Crack egg into a bowl with salt and pepper and mix with a fork. Roll out your pastry and use the top of the pastry cutter to make perfect rounds.
  3. Aim for making 6 pasty rounds and then place them on the worktop as you are going to be working in batches of two.
  4. Place a pastry round in the pasty maker and fill one side with filling and then add egg wash around the edges.
  5. Close the pasty maker and hold down tight to ensure it creates the perfect pasty.
  6. Brush the pasty with egg wash.
  7. Then place two pasties into the air fryer basket on the foil and air fry for 12 minutes at 180c/360f.

Notes

  • Egg. I did an experiment and found that you get a much better glow using egg wash rather than spraying with extra virgin olive oil.
  • Small. Do make sure your filling is small and you don’t have big pieces of meat or potatoes as this will make your pasty hard to eat and it wont cook right.
