Air Fryer Crispy Tofu

Air Fryer Tofu. This crispy tofu is cooked in the air fryer without oil and without corn starch. Perfect for pairing with sweet potato cubes for a healthy lunch or dinner.

  • Air Fryer

Air Fryer Tofu Ingredients:

  • 250 g tofu natural
  • 60 ml lemon juice
  • 1 Tbsp Garlic puree
  • 1 Tbsp parsley
  • 1 Tbsp basil
  • 1 Tbsp harissa
  • salt
  • black pepper

Instructions

  1. Remove your tofu from its packaging and cut into long slices. Place a tea towel on a large tea towel, add the tofu, add another tea towel on top and then place a heavy casserole dish over it. Put the tofu to one side for two hours while the tofu moisture is pressed out of the tofu.
  2. In one bowl add the lemon juice and the garlic puree and mix.
  3. In another bowl add the rest of your seasonings and mix well.
  4. When the two hours are up discard the tea towels and the casserole dish and place your tofu on a chopping board. Cut into cubes and then toss in the lemon and garlic.
  5. Then toss in the dried rub until every piece of tofu is well coated.
  6. Place in the air fryer basket and air fry for 6 minutes at 180c/360f.
  7. Shake the air fryer and cook for a further 4 minutes at 200c/400f and then serve.

Notes

  • Swaps. I have gone with a classic Mediterranean flavouring on my tofu. Though you can add whatever you like. Just focus on wet first, then a dry rub.
  • Crispy. If you like your tofu very crispy, then I recommend you add an extra 3 minutes at the end.
