Instructions
- Using paper towels, gently pat the duck breast to remove excess moisture.
- With a sharp knife, carefully score the skin of the duck breast, creating a diamond pattern. Try to cut only through the skin, not the meat.
- Generously season both sides of the duck with a blend of thyme, salt, and pepper.
- Place the seasoned duck breast in the air fryer basket, keeping the skin side facing up.
- Set the air fryer to 400 degrees Fahrenheit and cook the duck for 10-15 minutes.
- Use a meat thermometer to check the internal temperature. The duck is ready when it reaches 165 degrees Fahrenheit.
- After cooking, allow the duck breast to rest for a few minutes before slicing.
Notes
- Pat the duck breast dry before seasoning it. If there is excess moisture, the skin will not become crispy.
- Switch up the seasoning. While thyme, salt, and pepper are classics, you can also try garlic powder, rosemary, or Italian seasoning.
- Don't rely on cooking time alone. Use a meat thermometer to check for doneness. Duck is safe to eat when it reaches an internal temperature of 165 degrees F.
- There will probably be a lot of duck fat in the bottom of the air fryer. You can keep it and use it to saute vegetables or roast potatoes. Strain it into a jar and store it in the fridge for up to a week.
