Air Fryer Fried Ice Cream

Report
This frozen dessert features ice cream scoops coated with a crispy cinnamon cereal crust, cooked briefly in an air fryer to create a warm, crunchy exterior while keeping the inside cold and creamy. The coating involves flour, egg whites, and crushed Cinnamon Toast Crunch, giving a sweet and spiced flavor contrast to the vanilla ice cream.

Description

Air Fryer Fried Ice Cream combines the cold creaminess of vanilla ice cream with a distinctive crunchy exterior created by a coating of flour and crushed cinnamon cereal. The process involves shaping the ice cream into large scoops, freezing them thoroughly, then rolling them first in flour, then in egg whites, and finally in the cereal crumbs before freezing again to set the coating. Cooking in the air fryer for a very brief time crisps the coating without melting the ice cream inside.

The quick air frying at 350°F crisps the cereal coating, creating a textural contrast between the hot exterior and frozen interior. This method avoids the traditional deep frying, allowing for a cleaner, less oily dessert.

Serve immediately after air frying to enjoy the juxtaposition of crispy shell and cold ice cream center. This treat can be a novel finish to casual dinners or a fun indulgence for gatherings.
