Air Fryer Frozen Green Beans
Description
The Air Fryer Frozen Green Beans recipe takes frozen green beans and enhances them with a coating of Italian seasoning and olive oil, then crisps them in the air fryer. The initial 10-minute cook softens and heats the beans, after which an extra spray of olive oil helps them finish with a delicate crispiness. A final touch of butter adds richness just before serving. The seasoning provides a herby note complementing the vegetable's natural flavor.
The texture balances tender and crisp, a contrast not usually found when simply steaming frozen beans. The air fryer’s circulation cooks the beans evenly, ensuring the edges get lightly toasted. Adjusting the seasoning or using alternatives can customize the flavor.
This side dish pairs well with main courses where a fresh vegetable contrast is needed. The beans can be served hot from the fryer, perhaps alongside a meat or grain dish, adding a touch of herby, buttery texture.
The recipe notes advise reducing cook time if the beans are thawed to prevent overcooking, and mention that omitting oil will reduce crispness but still yield tasty beans. Tossing with butter after cooking is an alternative to oil for flavor. Stopping after the initial cook time gives a steamed effect if preferred.
