Air Fryer Nachos
Description
This recipe layers tortilla chips with pre-cooked seasoned ground beef and shredded cheese in an air fryer basket, filling it partially to allow even cooking. It’s cooked at 350°F for just a few minutes until the cheese melts thoroughly. The layering technique helps retain cheese on the chips and prevents it from dripping through the basket. The quick cooking time preserves chip crunch while warming the toppings.
The result is a convenient way to prepare nachos with melty cheese and flavorful ground beef, suitable for a snack or casual meal. Additional toppings or salsas can be added after cooking for extra flavor and texture.
Practical advice includes monitoring the cooking closely to prevent burning, overlapping chips to keep cheese in place, and optionally using foil liners for easy cleanup and removal.
Ingredients
- 4 cups tortilla chips
- 1 ½ cups ground beef cooked, for chili
- 2 cups shredded cheese
Instructions
- Fill the air fryer basket to one-third full with tortilla chips.
- Top with half the ground beef chili and cheese.
- Top with more nachos to about two-thirds of the way full.
- Top with remaining cooked chili and cheese.
- Cook at 350F / 180C for 3-5 minutes, or until cheese is melted.

Notes
- Watch the nachos closely to avoid burning as cooking times are short in the air fryer.
