These Air Fryer Peach Hand Pies use refrigerated pie crust circles filled with peach pie filling, folded into half-moons and sealed with crimped edges. Description

The recipe begins with thawed refrigerated pie crust rolled out and cut into 5-inch circles. Each circle is filled with about two tablespoons of peach pie filling, leaving a small border. Edges are wet with water, folded into half-moons, and sealed by pinching and crimping. After an egg wash and sugar topping, three small slits are cut on top for steam release. The pies are cooked in a preheated air fryer in a single layer sprayed with oil, promoting a crisp exterior. This method yields hand pies with tender, flaky crusts and juicy peach interiors.

  • 2 pie crust refrigerator
  • 1 1/2 cups peach pie filling
  • 1 egg large
  • 2 tablespoons water
  • 2 tablespoons granulated sugar or brown sugar, white
  • cooking spray

Instructions

  1. Start by planning in advance and thaw the pie crusts per package instructions.
  2. When ready to make the hand pies, roll out the pie dough on a lightly floured surface, and using a cookie cutter cut out 3 or more 5-inch circles from each crust. Discard the scraps.
  3. Add about 2 tablespoons of peach pie filling to the center of the circles leaving about a ½-inch border.
  4. After that, dip a fingertip in water and run it around the edges of the circles. Fold them to create a half-moon shape and pinch the edges together. Crimp the edges together using a fork, as shown in the photo collage.
  5. In a small bowl, whisk together the egg with the water and brush the surface of the hand pies with the egg mixture.
  6. Sprinkle with sugar, either white or brown and make 3 small incision cuts on the top, this helps the steam escape.
  7. Preheat the air fryer to 360 degrees F and spray the basket with oil spray.
  8. Arrange the pies, in one single layer not touching each other. If needed cook in batches.
  9. Air fry for 9-10 minutes, or until golden brown.
  10. Remove from the air fryer and let cool for a few minutes before serving.
