Air Fryer Pears
Description
Air Fryer Pears use firm varieties like Bartlett, Bosc, or Anjou to maintain texture after cooking. Pears are halved lengthwise and cored, then brushed with melted butter and coated with coconut sugar and ground cinnamon. Rubbing the sugar and cinnamon into the butter helps distribute flavor evenly. Cooking at 330°F for 10-15 minutes in an air fryer caramelizes the sugars and softens the fruit, creating a dessert with a tender interior and a sweet, spiced crust.
The texture balances tender pears with a slight caramelization on top. Serving warm allows pairing with cold or creamy accompaniments such as ice cream or yogurt, and granola adds a crunchy element. These elements complement the natural sweetness and spice, making a simple, satisfying dessert or snack.
Best practice includes selecting pears that are ripe but still firm to avoid mushiness. Coconut sugar can be substituted with light or dark brown sugar, or maple syrup can be used mixed with butter for brushing. Leftovers store well in the refrigerator for up to four days and can be reheated quickly either in a microwave or air fryer. The note includes serving size and nutritional details to support portion planning.
Ingredients
- 2 pear Bartlett, Bosc, or Anjou, firm but ripe
- 1 tablespoon salted butter melted, or vegan butter
- 1 - 2 tablespoon coconut sugar
- ¾ teaspoon ground cinnamon
Instructions
- Preheat your air fryer to 330°F.
- Wash and dry the pears, cut them in half lengthwise, then use a cookie scooper or spoon to scoop out the core and seeds.
- Evenly brush the melted butter on the cut side of the pears. Then sprinkle the coconut sugar and ground cinnamon over the butter. I like to rub it in with my fingers.
- Place the pear halves cut side up in the air fryer basket, making sure they are not overlapping.
- Air fry for 10 - 15 minutes, until caramelized and fork tender.
- Serve warm with ice cream, yogurt, and/or a sprinkle of your favorite granola. Enjoy!
Notes
- Choose firm yet ripe pears like Bartlett, Bosc, or Anjou for the best texture after air frying.
- Substitute coconut sugar with light brown sugar or use a butter and maple syrup mixture for brushing.
- Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 4 days.
- Reheat pears in the microwave for 20–40 seconds or in the air fryer at 350°F for 4–7 minutes.
