Air Fryer Pineapple

Air Fryer Pineapple offers a warm, caramelized treat featuring pineapple cubes tossed in cinnamon and maple syrup for a sweet, slightly spiced flavor. Cooking in the air fryer yields tender, golden pieces with a concentrated sweetness, suitable as a snack or dessert paired with ice cream or whipped cream.

Description

This recipe uses fresh pineapple cubes combined with ground cinnamon and maple syrup to create a fragrant and flavorful dish. Tossing the fruit gently ensures even coating before air frying at 380°F. The pineapple cooks for about 12 to 16 minutes, shaking the basket halfway to promote even browning and caramelization without overlap.

The result is pineapple pieces that are tender and juicy inside, with a warm, golden exterior accented by the cinnamon and maple syrup.

The warm pineapple can be served on its own or alongside vanilla ice cream or whipped cream for added richness. Variations include using honey or brown sugar instead of maple syrup, or substituting frozen or canned pineapple with adjusted cook times.

Leftovers keep well for up to 4 days refrigerated and can be reheated in an air fryer, oven, or microwave with care to preserve texture.

Ingredients

Servings
  • 1 pineapple peeled, cored, and cut into 1-inch cubes
  • 2 tablespoon pure maple syrup
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

Instructions

  1. Preheat your air fryer to 380°F and lightly spray with non-stick spray.
  2. In a bowl, combine the pineapple cubes, 1 tablespoon of maple syrup, and the cinnamon. Toss gently to coat the pineapple evenly.
  3. Place the coated pineapple cubes into the preheated air fryer basket. Make sure they don’t overlap too much, or else they will not cook properly. A little overlap is ok.
  4. Air fry the pineapple for 12 - 16 minutes, pausing at the halfway mark to give the basket a shake. They should be golden, juicy, and tender on the inside.
  5. Once done, carefully remove the pineapple from the air fryer and drizzle the remaining tablespoon of maple syrup over the top.
  6. Serve the warm maple cinnamon pineapple on its own, or pair it with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream. Enjoy!

Notes

  • Consider substituting maple syrup with honey or brown sugar if preferred.
  • Adjust cook times when using pineapple rings, spears, canned, pre-cut, or frozen pineapple: canned pineapple requires less time; frozen should remain unthawed.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 4 days.
  • Reheat gently in an oven, air fryer, or microwave following specified times to maintain texture.
