Air-Fryer Roasted Asian Broccoli

Air-Fryer Roasted Asian Broccoli features broccoli florets tossed with peanut oil and garlic, air-fried until crispy and golden. The cooked broccoli is coated in a mixture of honey, soy sauce, sriracha, and rice vinegar, then garnished with roasted peanuts and fresh lime juice for a crunchy, spicy, and tangy side dish that complements Asian-inspired meals.

Description

This recipe begins by coating broccoli florets with peanut oil, minced garlic, and salt, ensuring each piece is well seasoned. The broccoli is arranged in a single layer in an air fryer basket to achieve even roasting at high heat. Cooking for 15-20 minutes develops crispy browned edges while keeping the florets tender inside.

While roasting, a sauce is prepared by blending honey, reduced-sodium soy sauce, sriracha, and rice vinegar, briefly warmed to combine the flavors. Tossing the hot broccoli in this bright and spicy sauce imparts a balanced sweet-heat flavor with umami depth.

Finished with roasted salted peanuts for texture and an optional squeeze of fresh lime juice, this dish pairs well as a flavorful vegetable side or a snack component with occasional citrus brightness.

Ingredients

Servings
  • 1 pound broccoli cut into florets
  • tablespoons peanut oil
  • 1 tablespoon garlic minced
  • salt to taste
  • 2 teaspoons honey or agave nectar
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce reduced-sodium
  • 2 teaspoons sriracha
  • 1 teaspoon rice vinegar
  • cup peanuts roasted, salted
  • lime juice optional, fresh

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, toss together the broccoli, peanut oil, and garlic. Season with salt. Make sure all the broccoli florets are coated.
  2. Spread the broccoli into the wire basket of your air fryer in a single layer. Try to leave some space between each floret. If you run out of space, consider cooking in batches.
  3. Air fry the broccoli at 400℉ until golden brown and crispy, about 15-20 minutes, stirring halfway.
  4. While the broccoli cooks, mix together the honey, soy sauce, sriracha, and rice vinegar in a small, microwave-safe bowl. Microwave the mixture for 10-15 seconds until the honey is evenly incorporated.
  5. Transfer the cooked broccoli to a bowl and add the soy sauce mixture. Toss to coat and season to taste with a pinch more salt, if needed.
  6. Stir in the peanuts and squeeze lime on top, if desired. Serve hot.
