Air Fryer Roasted Chickpeas

The recipe prepares roasted chickpeas using an air fryer for a crunchy snack. After draining and cleaning the chickpeas, they're air-fried briefly before tossing in seasonings in a ramekin, then cooked further at higher heat to crisp up. Using different seasoning blends allows flavor variation, served immediately or stored for later.

Description

Air Fryer Roasted Chickpeas begin with thoroughly drained and rinsed chickpeas, from which any loose skins are removed. The initial cooking is at 180°C (360°F) for 5 minutes to start drying them. After this, chickpeas are tossed with selected seasonings using a ramekin to evenly coat and prevent excess spice from falling to the basket bottom. Then they are air-fried again at 200°C (400°F) for 3 more minutes to achieve a crunchy exterior.

The recipe suggests three separate seasoning blends—oriental, Mexican, and Cajun—that can be used individually or combined for variety. This method yields a crisp snack with bold flavor that is easy to customize depending on desired taste profiles.

The chickpeas can be served immediately warm or stored in containers for future snacking. Using ramekins for coating controls seasoning distribution and doubles as a serving container if desired.
