Air Fryer Salmon
Description
This Air Fryer Salmon recipe starts with salmon fillets coated in olive oil and a simple seasoning mix including salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and paprika. The olive oil helps the seasoning adhere and promotes a lightly crisped surface during cooking. Placing the fillets into a preheated air fryer at 400°F cooks them between 7 and 9 minutes, depending on thickness, until the fish flakes easily with a fork and is cooked through. The high heat of the air fryer simulates a dry-heat roasting, which preserves moisture while creating a delicate texture without needing added fats. Finishing by squeezing fresh lemon juice over the salmon brightens the dish and complements the spices. This method provides a convenient way to prepare salmon without heating a full oven and reduces cooking time while minimizing monitoring. The recipe suggests refrigerated storage of leftovers in an airtight container for up to three days, helping with meal planning.
Ingredients
- 6 salmon skin on or skin off, filets
- 2 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon paprika
- 2 lemon fresh
Instructions
- Preheat your air fryer to 400 degrees F. If your air fryer does not have a preheat option, then run the air fryer at 400 degrees F for 10 minutes.
- Rub each salmon filet with the olive oil.
- Mix the salt, pepper, garlic powder and paprika together in a small bowl and season the salmon with this seasoning mixture.
- Place the salmon in the air fryer and cook for 7-9 minutes at 400 degrees F until the salmon is cooked through and flakey. If the salmon is not done, cook in 1-2 minute increments until cooked to your preference. You may have to cook in batches depending on the size of your air fryer.
- Squeeze the lemon juice on the salmon when serving and enjoy!
Notes
- Store cooked salmon leftovers in an airtight container and refrigerate for up to 3 days.
- Adjust cooking time in 1-2 minute increments if salmon is not fully cooked after initial air frying.
- Cooking in batches may be necessary depending on air fryer size to avoid overcrowding.
