Air Fryer Salmon Bites (Lemon Garlic Butter)
Description
Air Fryer Salmon Bites (Lemon Garlic Butter) uses skinless, cubed salmon pieces seasoned simply with kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper for straightforward flavor. The salmon is coated in a sauce combining melted butter, lemon juice, and minced garlic, which infuses the fish with richness and citrus brightness. Cooking in an air fryer with a basket liner prevents sauce drips and creates a delicate crisp on the surface while keeping the interior moist.
The method avoids crowding the air fryer basket to ensure even cooking and does not require turning. The salmon bites take about 5 to 7 minutes at 400°F (200°C), producing small portions ideal for appetizers, salads, or macro bowls. Leftover garlic lemon butter in the bowl can be drizzled on top after cooking to enhance flavor.
This dish can be adapted to Whole30 by substituting the butter with ghee or olive oil. Quick cooking time and minimal ingredients make it practical for weekday meals or light snacks with a fresh garlic and lemon profile complementing the fatty salmon.
Ingredients
- 1 pound salmon cut into 1-inch cubes, skinless, filet
- ½ teaspoon kosher salt
- ¼ teaspoon black pepper freshly ground
- 3 tablespoons butter melted
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 3 garlic minced, cloves
Instructions
- Season the salmon. Add the salmon to a mixing bowl and season with salt and pepper. Toss to combine.
- Add the sauce. To the same mixing bowl, add the butter, lemon juice, and garlic. Toss to combine.
- Air fry the salmon. Place a liner in the basket of the air fryer (this is key to prevent the sauce from falling through). Add the salmon along with the sauce to the lined basket and air fry at 400°F (200°C) for 5 to 7 minutes. Pro tip: Try not to crowd the salmon. If needed, cook in two batches. And there's no need to shake halfway through.
- Serve them up. Serve the salmon bites with your favorite sides or top on a salad or macro bowl. And don't forget to drizzle the remaining garlic lemon butter on top!
Notes
- Replace butter with ghee or olive oil to make this recipe compliant with Whole30 diet guidelines.
