Air Fryer Salmon Recipe
Description
The recipe begins with brushing four salmon fillets with olive oil, then seasoning them evenly with paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, cumin, and kosher salt. Cooking in an air fryer at 375°F for 10 minutes results in salmon that is moist inside with a gentle crust on the outside.
While the salmon cooks, a lemon dill sauce is prepared by sautéing finely chopped shallots until translucent, then adding minced garlic, optional crushed red pepper, and chopped capers. Fresh dill and freshly squeezed lemon juice follow, simmered briefly with water to balance the sauce's consistency. The sauce has a bright, tangy, and slightly spicy flavor that pairs well with the rich, flaky salmon.
This salmon can be served beside varied sides like lemon-infused rice, Greek potatoes, or tahini salad, providing a balanced meal. The herbaceous sauce enhances the salmon without overpowering it.
To ensure even cooking, use fillets of similar size and thickness. Leftovers can be stored in the refrigerator for up to three days and reheated gently in the air fryer or oven to preserve texture and flavor. Spices can be varied for different flavor profiles by adding coriander, turmeric, or rosemary.
Ingredients
Air Fryer Salmon
- 4 salmon fillets
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1 tsp paprika
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp onion powder
- ½ tsp cumin
- 1/2 tsp kosher salt
Lemon dill sauce
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 1 shallot chopped
- 2 cloves garlic minced
- ¼ tsp crushed red pepper optional
- 1 tbsp capers chopped
- ⅓ cup dill chopped, fresh
- 2 lemon juice of
- 2 tbsp water
Instructions
- Brush the salmon fillets with olive oil.
- In a small bowl, mix the paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, cumin and salt. Sprinkle the spice mix all over the salmon fillets.
- Place the seasoned salmon pieces on the crip plate and air fry them in the Cosori TurboBlaze Air Fryer at 375 degrees F for 10 minutes.
- Meanwhile, make the lemon dill sauce: Heat the olive oil in a pan over medium high heat. Saute the shallots for 5 minutes so they're light and translucent.
- Add in the garlic and cook for a minute. Season with crushed red pepper and add in the capers.
- Add the dill followed by freshly squeezed lemon juice. Give it a stir, add the water and cook for a minute. If you'd like the sauce to be thinner, add more water.
- Once the salmon is cooked, transfer it to a platter and top with the lemon dill sauce.
Notes
- Use salmon fillets of similar size for even cooking.
- Leftovers keep refrigerated up to 3 days and can be reheated in the air fryer or oven.
- Try alternative spices such as coriander, turmeric, thyme, rosemary, or oregano for variation.
- Serve alongside tahini salad, lemon rice, or Greek potatoes for complementary flavors.
